The leading Spanish transport company Primafrio recently put 280 DAF XF trucks into operation. “Based on the excellent reliability and fuel efficiency of the first 30 XF trucks added to our fleet, we have taken delivery of another 250 units”, commented Juan Conesa, Managing Director of Primafrio. “These great new trucks are part of our plan to further expand our business throughout Europe.”
Since its foundation in the early sixties Primafrio has developed into an industry leading transport company, with specialisation in handling cooled and frozen food and high value goods. In fact, in its field it is among the fastest growing companies in Europe. Primafrio has its headquarters in Murcia with subsidiaries in Spanish Andalusia, Catalonia and Basque Country, as well as in Portugal, France and Germany. The modern facilities include state-of-the-art conditioned warehouses for offering customers a wide scale of added value logistics. The total Primafrio fleet currently consists of over 2,000 trucks.
“Our decision to opt for the top-of-the-range DAF XF truck follows comprehensive market research”, added Juan Conesa. “To support our position as a premium transport operator we required a premium product, offering lowest operating cost, among others through lowest fuel consumption. In addition, Primafrio is committed to the environment. DAF surpassed our expectations because it offers low CO2 emissions, also thanks to the introduction of the New XF of which fuel efficiency has increased by at least 7%, setting a new standard in the industry. In the same way, in the constant search for maximum wellbeing of our employees and in order to have the best possible truck in the market for our drivers, we have chosen the most comfortable and spacious Super Space Cab versions.”
The 250 DAF XF Primafrio trucks are equipped with a 12.9 litre PACCAR MX-13 engine (365 kW/480 hp).
“The fact that leading transport operators like Primafrio are opting for the New DAF XF – International Truck of the Year 2018 – is a huge recognition of the trucks’ quality, reliability, efficiency and driver comfort”, added DAF Trucks President Preston Feight.
